3. Chittorgarh Fort

6. Kumbhalgarh Fort
The Kumbhalgarh Fort is located close to Udaipur and was the residence of Mewars situated on the Aravalli Hills. It was built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha. Sitting atop the Thambore Hill, the Ranthambore fort is surrounded by the wildlife sanctuary. The walls of the fort are about 7 kilometers in length and include an area of nearly 4 square kilometers. Legend says that the fort was named as Nahargarh after the spirt of a Rathore, Nahar Singh. The Fort has an amazing view. Earlier it was a lonely place with magnificent structures and a few places to eat. But now the fort is bustling with noise due to the recent opening of the glass palace and wax museum.
